Who we are

„Kreativquartier Ruhrort“ was founded in 2010, around the time when the Ruhr-Area was declared Europe’s official cultural capital. Artists, cultural organizers, creative economists and intellectuals got together and have organized more than a thousand events since then. In close cooperation with artists fróm the area, the idea was coined to bring the Fringe to Duisburg, to create a unique and memorable happening in this historic part of a historic town. The first, but hopefully the first of many, Duisburg Fringe Festivals will take place on August 8th and 9th 2020.
